Maria Louisa Duval, age 48, passed away suddenly in her sleep on April 30, 2020 in Central Falls, RI. Maria, lovingly know to many as Mimi, was born on January 11, 1972 to Doris Sanchez and Tomas Diaz Sr, in Juncos, Puerto Rico.
Mimi loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. She loved to reminisce and laugh about all our family "adventures". Her smile and laughter were contagious. She was the best daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend you could ask for.
Mimi is survived by her son Derek Jerez, mother Doris Sanchez, stepfather Michael Velazquez, three brothers Tomas Diaz Jr, Felix Vargas & Omar Velazquez, and five sisters Vanessa Diaz, Brenda Dorval, Gloria, Yammyra & Sugeiry Rohena. Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren Jayda, Aurore & Ava Jerez, and her maternal grandparents Isa & Rafa Gorittz.
She is preceded in death by her father, Tomas Diaz Sr, paternal grandparents, Rafael & Paula Luisa Diaz and brother, Michael Velazquez Jr.
Due to restrictions on social gatherings as a result of the current pandemic, the family will organize a memorial service at a later date.
